What is Hypnosis?
The uncritical acceptance of suggestions while the subconscious mind is in a heightened state of receptivity.
Placing the conscious mind in abeyance while communicating directly with the subconscious.
Hypnosis is a common state of mind that is used by all of us everyday. Day dreaming is a form of hypnosis. Getting into a good book or movie to the point of being emotionally involved with the story is a form of hypnosis. The example most people can related to is called driving hypnosis. You're driving to or from work thinking about what you are going to do that day or night and not consciously thinking about your driving. Yet you stop at all of the stops, make all the correct turns, and often get out of your car at the end of your trip and can't recall the actual trip itself. You are so accustom to driving that your conscious mind is not needed for the task. Your conscious mind wonders of to other things and your subconscious mind does the driving. The same state of mind is often reached doing menial repetitive tasks in our lives.
